Reporting Suspicious/Criminal Incidents
ECA Neighborhood Watch Program

The Evermay Community Association has implemented a Neighborhood Watch Program.  Neighborhood Watch is about your security. Protecting you, your neighbors, and your guests depends on all of us reporting events and suspicious activities that we observe in Evermay.

An event or suspicious activity could be an actual or attempted act of vandalism or theft, such as a home or automobile break-in or robbery.  When observing an event or suspicious activity, you should first call the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) via 911 or the non-emergency number (703-691-2131) depending on the circumstances.

We ask that you also send an email to the Neighborhood Watch Coordinator at evermaywatch@gmail.com. You may send an email to the Neighborhood Watch Coordinator whether or not you also make a report to the police since not all events or suspicious activities may warrant a police report.  Include in your email all key information that you can gather, such as specifics of what occurred, day and time of day, description of persons or vehicles involved, and anything else that seems relevant. In particular, the types of information that are most important to provide when reporting a suspicious event, person, or vehicle are, for cars – license plate; for people – age, gender, dress, etc.; and in every case, the direction that the car or person went. It really helps to take pictures with your phone or other mobile device if you can and include those pictures in your email.

More details on the ECA Neighborhood Watch Program can be found in the Members Section of this website.
